Appointments

The doctors and nurses are available for consultation during their clinic hours, morning, afternoon and early evening. These vary from time to time. All surgery times are by appointment.

If you think the matter will take longer than usual (e.g. insurance medical, coil fitting) please inform the receptionist when booking your appointment.

Pharmacy First

The new Pharmacy First Service will enable community pharmacists to complete episodes of care for patients without the need for the patient to visit their general practice. They can help with the following issues:

If you have any of the above symptoms, you can visit your local pharmacy, who will be able to see you the same day and advise on the best course of action.

Urgent appointments

If you feel you need to be seen on the day about a medical concern, we will make every effort to make sure you are seen. 

To request an urgent appointment for today or tomorrow (Monday to Friday) during opening times use the ‘Get help for any health problem’ below or phone us on 0208 644 5187.

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use your answers to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or healthcare professional to help you.

Routine appointments

You can request a routine appointment in advance during opening times.

We will respond to requests within 2 working days.

Alternatively, you can contact us on 0208 644 5187.

Nurse appointments can be booked ahead up to six weeks.

When you get in touch, we’ll ask what you need help with.

We will use your answers to choose the most suitable doctor, nurse or healthcare professional to help you.

Telephone advice

If you require advice, but do not feel that you need to see a doctor or nurse, you may phone to speak to a doctor or ask for a call back. If you would like to speak to a named doctor, your enquiry may not be dealt with on the same day.

However you choose to contact us, we may offer you a consultation:

  • Via phone
  • Face to face at the surgery
  • Via Anima

Interpreter Service

Stonecot Surgery uses DA Languages. This service covers cover more than 500 languages, including BSL and other non-spoken languages.

Please let us know if you need an interpreter for either face to face, or telephone appointments.

Cancelling or changing an appointment

To cancel your appointment:

If you need help when we are closed

If you need medical help now, use NHS 111 online or call 111.

NHS 111 online is for people aged 5 and over. Call 111 if you need help for a child under 5.

Call 999 in a medical or mental health emergency. This is when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • If there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
  • If you would prefer to consult with the doctor or nurse by phone, face-to-face, by video call or by text or email
  • If you need an interpreter
  • If you have any other access or communication needs

Home visits

If you are housebound or too ill to come to the surgery and require a home visit, please contact the surgery if possible before 10:30am as this helps the doctor to plan their rounds.

If possible please attend the surgery, as we have better facilities for examination and treatment. The decision as to the need for a home visit rests with the doctor.
